Getting here by car (recommended)

The apartment is in Residencial Bahía by Kronos Homes, just above La Cala de Mijas, and it is easiest to reach by car.

From Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport (AGP): about 32 km, 30–35 minutes.

• Leave the airport and follow signs for the A-7 / AP-7 towards Marbella / Algeciras (westbound). The AP-7 toll road is a little faster in summer traffic; the free A-7 works just as well outside peak hours.

• Stay on the motorway past Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola.

• Take the exit for La Cala de Mijas / Calanova Golf and follow the signs for Calanova Golf. The residence is less than 1 km from the motorway exit, so you are there within two minutes of leaving the A-7.

• Enter Residencial Bahía – Block 4, Portal 2 and continue to apartment Bajo B.

Getting here by public transport from the airport

Total journey time is about 1 hour 15 minutes and it costs only a few euros.

1. Train – airport to Fuengirola (about 35 minutes). The Cercanías C-1 station is right next to Terminal 3; just follow the "Tren / Train" signs from arrivals. Take the train in the direction of Fuengirola and stay on until the end of the line. Trains run roughly every 20 minutes, from around 05:30 in the morning to 23:40 at night. A single ticket is about €2.70.

1. Bus – Fuengirola to La Cala de Mijas (about 20 minutes). From Fuengirola take bus M-220 (Fuengirola – La Cala de Mijas – Calahonda – Marbella) and get off in La Cala de Mijas. This bus runs about every half hour, from around 06:35 until 22:30 (a little earlier on Sundays). Lines M-119 and M-320 stop in La Cala de Mijas as well, but run less frequently.

1. Last stretch – La Cala de Mijas to the apartment (about 2 km). The residence sits on the hillside above the village, so the final stretch is uphill. A taxi from La Cala de Mijas takes five minutes and is the easiest option; walking is possible, but not with luggage or in the heat of summer.

A simpler alternative: take the C-1 train to Fuengirola and a taxi from the station (about 8 km, 15 minutes), or book an airport transfer or taxi straight from the airport (30–35 minutes). If you are travelling with children or a lot of luggage, this is well worth the extra cost.
